Davis came to the work from the inside. She was a delegate first, in a system she loved, and when Arizona needed a new director she took the role rather than watch it sit empty. What she wanted to be was specific: a director who encourages her girls and gives them opportunities to shine in their own communities.
Today she directs RIM Arizona — Royal International Miss — a role she took on in August 2025, in the same system she once competed in as a delegate. The state pageant runs seven divisions: Princess, ages five to seven; Sweetheart, eight to ten; Pre-Teen, eleven to thirteen; Jr. Teen, fourteen to sixteen; Teen, seventeen to nineteen; Miss, twenty to twenty-five; and MS, twenty-six and over. Beyond Arizona, she also oversees California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.
RIM Arizona, the pageant she directs, is built on sisterhood — the team camaraderie and the uplifting that an audience can see from its seats. Davis is more interested in the part it can't see.
This isn't just about winning a title. It's about what happens to you along the way.
"What you don't see is the girl who walks in unsure of herself and leaves believing she can," she says. "The late-night pep talks. The tears turned into smiles. The friendships that become like family. The moms who become friends. The girls who celebrate each other's wins even when they're competing for the same crown." That, she says, is what makes RIM Arizona different.
Ask her when she knew the job was hers to keep and she goes to a hotel room at internationals. A girl came by to go over her interview questions, and the two of them talked them through for hours and lost track of time. "Being there for anything my girls needed reminded me why I was there."
Away from the stage, she travels for the pleasure of it — new people, new environments, new food, which she calls a joy. Home is her husband, who is also her best friend, and three dogs named Jäger, Cooper and Winston. Church matters to her, and so does volunteering with Best Buddies of Arizona.
One director to another
No matter how hard it can get as a director, it's all worth it to see your girls on the international stage, to see how far they've come, to see them shine and to see how beautiful they are inside and out.
